A Special Use Permit to operate a Group Retreat Center was originally requested by PINE HOLLOW INSTITUTE in May, 2014. The property is located at 10400 South Bayshore Drive (Tax I.D. numbers 05-06-450-006-00, 05-06-029-015-00, and 05-06-029-011-00) Elk Rapids Township, Michigan. The Public Hearing was originally opened in June, 2014 and was tabled in August, 2014 pending more information.

On May 20, 2015 the Planning Commission un-tabled the request at a Public Hearing, and the Pine Hollow management asked for tabling an additional month. Discussions between the Elk Rapids Township Planning Commission and Pine Hollow Institute will resume at the June 16, 2015 meeting.

A Group Retreat Center is defined in Elk Rapids Township Ordinance Sections 1.03; and the Special Use criteria for a Group Retreat Center are described in Sec 7.06. AUDITING SERVICES Request for Proposal Elk Rapids Township is requesting proposals from qualified firms of Certified Public Accountants to audit its financial statements for the fiscal years ending March 31, 2014, March 31, 2015 and March 31, 2016. There will be an option to extend this contract for auditing the Township’s financial statements for each of the subsequent two fiscal years. The continuation of the contract after each year is solely at the discretion of the Township Board. Completed proposals must be received by 2:00 pm on Friday, February 21, 2014. Proposals received after this date will not be considered. Township Board action to award bids is expected on Tuesday March 11, 2014. Proposals must remain valid for at least 60 days past the deadline for submittal.

Notice Public Hearing : The Elk Rapids Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Government Center, 315 Bridge Street, Elk Rapids, Michigan to consider the following amendments to the Elk Rapids Township Zoning Map as follows:

Amendment #2014-3: The Elk Rapids Planning Commission will consider a request to rezone a portion of two parcels of property located at 10400 South Bayshore Drive (Tax I.D. 05-06-029-011-00 and 05-06-029-015-00). Both parcels are currently split by a zoning boundary designating R-1 (Single-Family Residential use) on the westerly shoreline portion and R-3 (Multi-Family Apartment use) fronting the easterly street side portion of the property. The Applicant is requesting that the boundary be removed and both parcels be uniformly zoned as R-1 (Single-Family Residential). A copy of Zoning Map will be available for viewing at the Elk Rapids Township Office, 315 Bridge Street, Elk Rapids, during working hours.
