ELK RAPIDS TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING RESCHEDULED  April Meeting Date Change Due to MTA Conference is changed from Tuesday, April 11 to Thursday April 6, 2017 at  11:00 AM.

  ELK RAPIDS TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION will hold the Quarterly Planning Commission meeting on April 18th, 6:30 PM at the Governmental Center, 315 Bridge St., Elk Rapids, Mi.
  IMPORTANT NOTICE:  Township Board Meeting Time Change:  Starting with the May/2017 Township Board Meeting the meeting time for all Board Meetings going forward will be at 9:00 AM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
  SPECIAL ELECTION - MAY 2ND, 2017  Ballot Text For Continued Funding For 9-1-1
  Resolution #10-2017 Proposal be offered to the electorate on May 2nd, 2017

ANTRIM COUNTY - Continued Funding 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone & Central Dispatch  This proposal is a renewal of the previously approved millage and will permit the County to levy up to 1/2 of one mill ($.50 cents per $1,000.00 of taxable valuation) to provide funds for the continued operations of the comprehensive countywide 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone and Central Dispatch System.

Shall the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be imposed by the County of Antrim, State of Michigan, against taxable property in the County be increased by one-half (1/2) of one mill ($.50 cents per $1,000 of taxable value) on the taxable value of such property for a period of five (5) years, 2018 through 2022, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for the continued operations of the comprehensive countrywide 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone and Central Dispatch System, and shall the County be authorized to levy such millage for these purposes? If approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $876,239 for Antrim County in 2018.

  SPECIAL ELECTION - MAY 2ND, 2017 Ballot Text - Exhibit "A" Bonding Proposal

Shall Elk Rapids Schools, Antrim, Grand Traverse and Kalkaska Counties, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($650,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds therefore for the purpose of:

erecting, furnishing and equipping restroom/concession building at the football field/track complex and at the high school soccer/baseball field; and preparing, developing and improving athletic fields and sites?

The following is for information purposes only:
The estimated millage that will be levied for the proposed bonds in 2017 is 0.10 mill ($0.10 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a net -0- mill increase from the prior year's levy.  The maximum number of years the bonds may be outstanding, exclusive of any refunding, is seven (7) years.  The estimated simple average annual millage anticipated to be required to retire this bond debt is 0.10 mill ($0.10 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation).

(Pursuant to State law, expenditure of bond proceeds must be audited, and the proceeds cannot be used for repair or maintenance costs, teacher, administrator or employee salaries, or other operating expenses.)


TOWNSHIP CREDIT CARD SERVICES - Paying Elk Rapids Township Property Taxes using a debit/credit card.  You can pay your Elk Rapids Township real estate taxes on line using all major credit cards. These are for current taxes being collected and not delinquent taxes due to Antrim County Treasurers office, after February 28th. There is a convenience fee for credit/debit card usage of 3.0%.   A link has been provided below where you can take advantage of paying your taxes by credit card.

Summer Taxes are payable July 1st through September 14th, without interest.
Winter Taxes
   are payable December 1st through February 14th, without penalty.

Resolution for Accepting Credit Cards for Tax Payments:  Approved by the Township accepting credit card payments for tax bills, understanding that there will be a service fee by the credit card company directly to the customer using that form of payment.
